End of day 4 of framing brings us stairs....well almost, half of them any way. But it made getting to the second floor much easier.
They finished framing out the rooms on the second floor and began building the roof rafters.
After much discussion between us and the builder we decided on a fireplace. We wanted a focal point in the great room so we went as big as we could, reasonably. Ours will also be on a stone wall (see post stone and brick) with a large wooden mantel. We will have a large, elevated hearth for people to snuggle up to in the winter. Although right now it is hard to even imagine wanting to get next to anything putting out 50,000 btu. The herringbone pattern will be the same but with cappuccino colored brick.
