End of Week 1

Here our gravel driveway is being put down.
One truck load does 60 feet of driveway.  Just 700 feet of driveway to go!

Parking in the Garage!

This is the view from our back porch!

Checking on Baby

We had to move Baby to the lower acres and we were concerned about how she would do with the other horse and cattle.  As you can see she is doing just fine...

And happy to see Uriah.

Watching the show

Uriah and I thought a picnic table by the pond would be great place for the guys to take five and for us to watch the show.

100 truck loads of red clay will be trucked in today.  This one was number 55.

And we're off...

Day 1:  Jason putting up the sign and all the orange flags for the heavy trucks.

Filling the culvert with red clay so all the trucks don't bottom out.

Paul clearing the home site.

A Man and his Tractor

Uriah purchased his new tractor from our new neighbor, Barbara.  She was kind enough to store it for him till we closed.  But just like any man with a new toy, Uriah was out first thing Monday morning mowing the front 4 acres.  When I drove up to bring him lunch, he was hot and sweaty but grinning from ear to ear on the seat of that tractor.

Getting real, really quick

These showed up the very next day.  This dream is about to get going!

Sunsets at the Infinity Ranch

This was an absolutely stunning sunset at the Ranch the night before we closed.  We had all kinds of drama leading up to the closing, in fact, we were not sure it would go through till the morning of.  Afterwards, Uriah and I and our builder Jason went to the property and marked out where the house and barn were going to be.  We made sure to place the house to capture these amazing sunsets.

This horse was left on our property and was looking rather thin so even before we closed we started driving out to feed him every night.  We call him "Baby", mostly because I said "Awe poor baby", when I saw him all alone and skinny.  Since we started feeding him, he now follows us around like a puppy.  You will be glad to know he is looking better already.

Our new journey begins

Here is our new property!  We feel extremely lucky to have found this after an exhaustive search.  I know it doesn't look like much from this view but it is stunning.  We have national forest across, behind and just north of our immediate neighbors.  We have two ponds, one that is spring fed.  We have met our neighbors and are thrilled to have them.

We say goodbye to our old home

Here we say goodbye to our home since March 2005. As you can see by my tear streaked face and red rimmed eyes it was a sad farewell, both to our home and our wonderful neighbors.  But we knew we were embarking on a new adventure.....building our dream home in the country.  We invite you to join us on this grand journey
